Accessibility Statement

Last updated: 3 August 2026

We want everyone to be able to use our website and services. Bethy Boilers is committed to improving accessibility for disabled people and for anyone who uses assistive technology or needs information in a different way.

1. About this statement

This statement applies to the Bethy Boilers website at bethyboilers.co.uk. Bethy Boilers is the trading name of Michael Husband, a sole trader providing boiler servicing and domestic gas-engineering services.

It explains the steps we take to support accessibility, the standard we aim to follow, possible limitations, and how you can ask for help or report an accessibility problem.

2. Our accessibility commitment

We aim to provide an inclusive service and make reasonable adjustments so disabled people are not placed at a substantial disadvantage when accessing our website or services.

We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 as our main technical reference and are working towards Level AA where reasonably practicable. WCAG is based on four principles: content should be perceivable, operable, understandable and robust.

Bethy Boilers is a private small business and is not claiming that the website is covered by the separate Public Sector Bodies Accessibility Regulations. Our responsibilities as a service provider include the duty to consider reasonable adjustments under the Equality Act 2010.

3. Using this website

We want visitors to be able to:

  • zoom into pages and increase text size using browser or device controls;
  • navigate the website using a keyboard where the website controls support it;
  • use the website with common screen-reading and speech-recognition technology;
  • understand page headings, links, buttons and form instructions;
  • view content on desktop computers, tablets and mobile telephones; and
  • contact us another way if a digital feature is inaccessible.

Your browser, operating system or assistive technology may provide additional settings for text size, colour, contrast, keyboard control, captions and spoken content.

4. Measures we take

When creating and updating the website, we aim to:

  • use a clear page structure and meaningful headings;
  • use readable type, spacing and colour contrast;
  • provide meaningful text for links and buttons;
  • add alternative text to informative images where appropriate;
  • avoid relying on colour alone to communicate important information;
  • make layouts responsive across different screen sizes;
  • label form fields and provide understandable instructions;
  • support visible keyboard focus where the website tools allow it; and
  • review accessibility when adding new pages, content or website features.

5. Current accessibility status

The website has not yet undergone a complete independent or expert accessibility audit. We therefore do not currently claim full conformance with WCAG 2.2 Level AA.

We are reviewing and improving the website as the business and its online services develop. Because a full audit has not yet been completed, accessibility issues may exist that are not listed in this statement. Please tell us if you encounter one.

6. Known and possible limitations

The following areas may not always provide the same level of accessibility as the main website content:

  • Third-party content: embedded maps, review platforms, cookie controls, security tools or other services may have accessibility limitations outside our direct control.
  • Forms and interactive features: some features supplied by WordPress, Elementor or third-party plugins may not work perfectly with every keyboard, browser or assistive-technology combination.
  • Older images: some decorative or previously uploaded images may have missing, incomplete or imperfect alternative text.
  • Documents: any PDF or downloadable document may not be fully structured for screen readers or keyboard navigation.
  • Automated testing: automated tools can identify some problems but cannot confirm that a whole website is accessible to every user.

We will prioritise issues that prevent someone from requesting a quotation, contacting us, understanding a service or accessing important safety information.

7. Alternative ways to access information or contact us

If you cannot access information or use a feature on the website, contact us and tell us what you need. Where reasonable, we can:

  • explain website information by telephone or email;
  • accept an enquiry or quotation request without requiring you to use an online form;
  • provide relevant information in a simpler or alternative electronic format; or
  • discuss a reasonable adjustment for an appointment or service visit.

The adjustment available will depend on what you need, the information or service involved, safety requirements and what is reasonable in the circumstances.

8. Reporting an accessibility problem

If you find an accessibility problem, need information in another format or want to request a reasonable adjustment, please contact us:

Please include the page address, what you were trying to do, the problem you experienced and, if you are comfortable sharing it, the browser, device or assistive technology you were using. You do not need to disclose a diagnosis or unnecessary medical information.

We aim to acknowledge accessibility enquiries within five working days and will tell you what we can do or when we expect to provide a fuller response.

Need help now? You do not have to use the website contact form. Call 07711 126 185 or email info@bethyboilers.co.uk and we will discuss a suitable alternative.

9. Complaints and further advice

We would like the opportunity to resolve the issue first. Please contact us using the details above and explain the accessibility problem or adjustment you require.

If you believe you have experienced disability discrimination and need independent information about your rights, you may contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS). Its telephone number is 0808 800 0082 and its textphone number is 0808 800 0084.

Nothing in this statement limits any rights you have under the Equality Act 2010 or other applicable law.

10. How we review accessibility

We will review this statement when the website undergoes a significant change, when we identify a material accessibility issue, or at least annually. We will update the “last updated” date when material changes are made.

Future reviews may include automated checks, keyboard testing, zoom and responsive-layout checks, colour-contrast checks, review of alternative text and feedback from website users.
